Yiethala nodded. "Of course my lord." He turned to two of the priests and gave them a nod to single the go ahead. The two opened scrolls and began read in unison words of a language none there would understand. Not even the priests themselves. Clouds gathered over the castle, hiding most of the sun and light away except for a perfect circular opening directly over the circle drawn in the center of the courtyard. Priests scurried to be out of the way as the summoning took place.

Raiden sat back in his throne, robes draped artlessly across the angles of his knees. Eyes narrowed, he watched and waited. His success was almost assured.

Sephis nodded his head and started off, practically flying from the room after a quick bow of respect to signify his exit. He was off to the stable of course. ~Chiyo, meet you there. I claim Attun. He's always been the fastest horse I've known and we sure as hell need speed.~

~Right. I tag one of the mares, they're the only ones that let me stay on for more than ten seconds!~
A quick dip of the head and the diminutive girl was slipping through the crack in the door, past the guards and along the corridor. Once she was on the main stairs, she broke into a run, blending through the crowds - down, down and further still until she was in the heart of the caves. The lower exit tunnel gleamed as she emerged into the stable room. The ceiling was low but the horses didn't seem to mind.
"Phew! That's a bit too much of a run ta be easy..."

The light coming out of that circle became brighter, too bright for anyone to see the descending figure clearly. What could be seen was a female figure slowly lowering from the sky, sprouting from her back were two large feathery wings. She landed gently on the ground, as the light began to dull. Yiethala nodded and a nervous priest approached her carrying robes. She collapsed onto a knee a moment after landing. Though the light and the covering of her wings were too much for anything to be seen clearly, the figure was a unclothed woman with shining blond hair and pure white feathered wings. With the help of the female priest and several others that approached her she was soon covered by the plain robes that had been modified for her extra appendages.

Raiden stood, squinting against the violent glare of the light. He could barely make out any activity going on in the circle, and waited impatiently for his weapon to be revealed. The man smirked, a cruel smirk that threw the planes of his face into stark contrast. His reign would soon be secure!

Sephis was already standing there in Attun's stall, stroking the white gelding's fur. "What took you so long Chiyo?" he chuckled as he strapped the horse's girth on tightly. Black Patrol member tack was easily identifiable. It was lightweight for running but made of tough material and like Sephis's saddle, often engraved.

The lights died out entirely and the clouds started to clear. Yiethala smiled, stepping down from the raised platform towards the Angel, others stepping out of his way. "Oh radiant one. Our pleas have been answered. Please, speak to us your name. Let our lord know the name of his champion, the one who will drive away terror and chaos in the glory of his rule." He motioned towards lord Raiden. She turned and looked up, strait at Raiden. Her piercing sky blue eyes locked onto his has her head rose and her long hair fell out of her face. She said nothing for a long moment, then spoke, her voice easilly loud enough to hear even if it didn't look like she did more than speak quietly. "My name... My true name is not to be spoken. My name to you is Serra." Her voice was strong, not high pitched but demanding of it's own respect, it held an otherworldly quality to her tone.

Chiyo waved off Sephis with a wry grin. "This thing's heavy ta lug about, y'know," She threw an arm back, indicating the weapon case. "And I'm not exactly tall." Hefting the case again, she strode over to one of the smaller stable booths, reaching inside and easily grasping the lead rein of a small bay mare. Her own tack was waiting. "Hopefully Gala won't chuck me off on the way, I've enough bruises as it is!"
Raiden met the Angel's gaze without shrinking away, shoulders strong beneath her scrutiny. In turn he took in the image of the heavenly being, satisfied that she would be able to take care of the Rebellion. A creature like her would be able to infiltrate very easily, convince those soft-hearted fools that she was a friend... and if she was as powerful as Yiethala claimed...
"Serra..." he muttered, before raising his voice to speak to Yiethala. "How do we know she is loyal?"

"She is an Angel. She cannot be bribed, what does money mean to one such as her? She is convinced that ours is a land wrought by chaos. You are the lord trying to bring order to your people, she is a creature of order." Yiethala moved back to Raiden so he could speak quietly. "My sword." Serra spoke. Yiethala looked back at her. "Where is my sword." He turned to another priest and nodded, this one a male. He approached the angel and revealed the weapon that was hidden under cloth. An excellently crafted longsword, though mostly free of decorational add-ons. She took the hilt of the sword and lifted it to look at. Golden flames engulfed the blade immediately. "Yiethala turned to his lord again. "Use her as a weapon in whichever way you decide. She is a charismatic character, and a flurry of steel on the battlefield. A warrior angel is one of the most deadly kinds."

Raiden nodded, the cruel tilt to his lips still firmly in place.
"Good. You have done very well, Yiethala. Are there any records of how she deals with espionage? I would like to see what information I can gather before she devastates the Rebellion. Because we cannot afford to have another such movement emerge in the future, of course. That would be unacceptable."

The thief and his shapeshifter-bird stood thoughtfully together in the rebel quarters. By the urgency of their movement it seemed the Black Patrol were summoned to face some immediate Raiden-based threat. If so...was it really so wise to stay there? Wouldn't it be better to offer to assist the king?
(x3 seems I'm converting my little thief over to Raiden's side so I have a character to play. Expect him to be stealing away, following the Patrol, and ending up with Raiden in the future)

(Dun dun dun! Double-agents are always fun. ^.~)
Chiyo swung herself up on to the docile mare - all seemed to be well on the bucking front; Gala was too busy chomping on the oats the girl had slipped her before even attempting to get in the saddle. She wobbled a little as she tried to balance the weight of her weapon, but eventually felt stable enough to grab the reins.
"Ready?"

(love 'em xD)
Attun, saddled and ready, snorted as if to reply for Sephis. "I'd say that's a resounding yes my friend." he laughed. "...Seems our other Patrol members are dilly dallying still. Shall we depart without them or just wait ages for them to show up? Splitting up may not be a bad idea."

"Smaller targets and if we're discovered we won't give t'others away..." She mused for a moment, but it didn't take long for her to nod decisively. "Sounds like a plan to me, Sephis. All right. Time ta get going."
