"Oh no. You don't have to be concerned," Sheakria replied. She was well practiced with mental speech enough to be able to hold both conversations. "I was just thinking that if the war were over what would Ebony be doing? She's passive now but would she not make a grab for greater power once her rival is gone? Destroying one giant won't stop another from rising."
~This is more severe. A show of power. As I have said, Gaulroach is becoming more aggressive. He himself attacked them earlier today.~

"Possibly, but Gaulroach has Nyrakk's assistance. Ebony has no such advantage, if I beat Gaulroach and if she makes a play for power it would be easier to stop her."
~Himself?~ Serrion suddenly felt very disappointed he had been here and not there when it had happened. ~But he's always commanded from a distance. I've only seen him take place in battle twice. The first time was... you know, and he killed Shavron. The second he almost got killed.~ Sheakria had not been involved in that battle. It had been one of the first major conflicts between Serrion and Gaulroach; and with Crimson's power he had burnt a hole right through where Gaulroach's chest should have been. Of course that's when he found out about the demon...

"I suppose so but she is strong too. I doubt her play for power would be as violent but she won't go down without a battle herself. But think about this. If you destroy the two powers of this world then things will collapse for sure."
~Yes. Himself. Since awakening Nyrakk he is determined to show his strength and strike fear into them. They will surrender of their own accord if he keeps it up. He has said he will not lead more than half of his strikes but just the idea that he might will cripple his opposition. Let me say this. I have never seen him fight full strength and even that was just a taste.~ She flashed images of the slaughter into his mind, of Gaulroach of course and not herself. ~He could and will do worse.~

"We're dragons Sheakria, we're not meant to be lorded over by a king or queen like humans. We survived with our factions; history among our kind has shown that when an over ambitious dragon seeks control it only leads to suffering." 'Crimson' sighed. "Ebony's grace is that she hasn't used slaughter in her rise for power, but if she changes on that she'll need to be stopped too."
~Then I need to help them.~ Serrion reflected on some of the images she had shown him. ~Whether or not he is present the Shining Scale clan needs something to tip the balance in their favor.~

"But what of all those who serve Gaulroach? Or Ebony?" she asked. "They'll be left homeless all of a sudden without leadership. Surely chaos will occur."
~Likely. He wants me to lead the rest of the attacks and while I can hold back it still will not stop the killing. If you want to do something you'd best do it between strikes and time it for one he won't be present for.~

"Most of Gaulroach's followers would be best hunted down. The ones who aren't more demon then natural are likely intelligent enough to search out their own paths. As for Ebony let's hope she realizes just what a respectable position she has already. And even if she fell her officers have more self control than Gaulroach's."
~No, if he is there I most certainly will try and find him. I'm probably one of the only few there is that could keep him preoccupied long enough for innocents to escape.~ Serrion smiled mentally. ~I'm still going to be careful but I can't just hide. I'm not going to face him all out; so if I'm just there harassing him I have a much better chance at survival.~

"I don't think she'd push it. She's power hungry but cautious. She doesn't have Gaulroach's ambition. Her followers are more like a community than servants." Sheakria said with a snort. She didn't seem to approve.
~Again, I advise you to be cautious but whatever you do I am sure to be in trouble for it. You'll have to force a retreat and it'll be obvious I informed you if you suddenly know about the attacks.~

~Then I'll make a visit some time two or three days from now to avoid drawing suspicion.~ Serrion nodded mentally. ~Thank you for telling me this.~ Serrion took over the verbal conversation then. "Then they'd be fine even in the event she's not around. No... it seems like sometimes the only reason she keeps this up is because she doesn't want him to be stronger then her."

~You're welcome. I suppose.~ She replied. Sheakria wasn't sure if she should feel bad or good about it. This counted as betrayal but did it really when she wanted Serrion to be safe?
She nodded. "Well yes you're right in that aspect. She likely won't be a problem in the future." The emerald dragoness stood and opened her wings. "And since I made a promise to my Lord to return soon after delivering his message I should be off. Thank you for keeping a semi-open mind as always."

Serrion clumsily got to his feet as well. "You're leaving? Already?" The blood dragon looked saddened by the thought. "You have hardly been here a few minutes..."

Sheakria frowned. It hurt her to see him upset this way. "I could stay a little longer but we've run out of things to discuss business-wise. Unless you happen to have a subject for more casual discussion?" She prompted. Truthfully she didn't want to leave him any more than he wanted her to go. After all it just meant returning to the tower and the unavoidable violence. She'd rather spend time with him given the choice.

"Well we don't have to talk..." Serrion thought on it for a moment and then a smile crossed his lips. He knew just the thing that would keep Sheakria's interest. "First to yelp in pain looses." And then without further adieu he spat a bolt of flame in her direction.

She dodged to the side, wings snapping against her body with a loud sound from the sudden air movement. Her eyes met his a moment and she smirked. "You're on." She opened her mouth and shot a burst of fire in his direction as retaliation.

He raised onto his hind legs and beat his wings once. That with a bit of fire magic caused the flames to part and go around him harmlessly. Even the land itself was resistant from ages of the blood dragons and their flames.

Sheakria exhaled some flames, batting them with her wings to send a wall of them at him. He had the advantage with this but she wasn't about to back down. After all she was a known fighter. The was no way in hell she was going to be the one to lose.
