"I trust you. Do not worry about it," Fury responded. She peeled back the shields and walls from her mind and allowed him access. The free flow of her thoughts remained open as well but her more private memories and such were kept roped off. She didn't really expect him to go there but it was reflexive.

Serrion did not just watch her mind, it felt as though he had entered it, taken a piece of his soul and used it to enter. Immedietly she was granted access to his mind for now though they were sepporate creatures in bodies, their minds intermingled freely. She could sense his feelings, there was much warmth and love, all directed to her.

Fury blinked a few times then closed her eyes. The mingled emotions and thought processes felt alien and yet they felt right. She and Serrion were equals, sharing everything between them. It was if their very hearts beat in synchronization. ...And the love. She wasn't sure if she wanted to keep the connection because of it. It made her heart swell and soar, fluttering like a bird in her chest nervously. She of course returned such strong feelings but knowing that he may one day change them made her sad, which he could of course sense.

Serrion's emotions flickered, reflecting Fury's uncertain sadness. He quickly hid it away and returned the love again, not allowing it to falter in the slightest. Now behind the feelings Fury would feel another thing, this felt like a burning orb of fire, it was wrapped around his soul and was the power and magic Serrion possessed within him. Beneath that and pressed tightly against Serrion's soul was a dark spot, a pulsating force of energy and let out and extruded energy in equal measures. From within that a conscience even more alien than what she was feeling stared out at her. A calculating series of thoughts without feelings, memories without dates, and power without a visible limit. That dark spot was Crimson.

The warmth from Crimson's influence caused her scales to crawl. Fury ignored it but a sort of curiosity crept over her. He was so alien compared to Serrion or herself. It was eerie. "Wow..."

Serrion nodded. "It is like what you feel with me right now... Only with that always watching you from deep inside. I do not think Crimson feels compassion, or any other feeling. I think he is only manipulated by what I feel."

"I doubt he feels no emotions... If he was truly manipulated by what you feel his opinion would be purely hatred directed to Gaulroach. Yet he is tactical in it. See my point? Even if he does not feel compassion or other feelings of the sort he still has an underlying emotion. Perhaps it is so hidden under layers of other thought you cannot find it?"

Serrion seemed doubtful, but then he nodded. "His memories also flow into me from time to time. I see something that is about to happen, or something that might have happened if things gone differently. But now... he is claiming there is more to him. That the hellkite is not only represented by its past, but its future."

"Past, present, and future all at once? Sounds nothing short of confusing. I admire you for being able to handle such a connection with him constantly. It seems almost maddening."

It didn't reach Serrion. Something blocked the message, and the red dragon's eyes went dull. "Hail the clan mother." Hissed the deeper voice that was Crimson. "Daughter of the Moon Dragons. Maker of the burning sky."

"...Hail the Clan mother? What are you going on about, Crimson?" Fury asked, confused. Her eyes shot open and widened. Her own emotions were swallowed up in the connection and overtaken by Crimson. "Maker of the burning sky...?"

Serrion nodded and then spoke with Crimson's voice. "Have you ever seen a sunset, or sun rise? When the sky itself is painted all of reds and oranges and yellows? When the night touches the day fire engulfs the world."

Fury paused and frowned. "You're speaking in riddles Crimson. Are you talking bout myself and Serrion? As we are day and night to each other through blood and belief? Or has the Hellkite nature within your soul decided to twist my mind into a hundred questions?"

"You have only brushed the edge of my meaning, but you are on the right track." He chuckled. "Very well, I will speak more clearly. There is a reason why I cannot access all of my power. If I was then I'd be unquestioningly the most powerful being in existence. Many would be dead, many others saved, I wouldn't have died to Gaulroach in my last life, and he certainly would be dead this time if I could. But that is all because fate does not want it to end that way, everything follows a path it is trying to keep on track. Many consider Hellkites the changers of fate. But the reality is, we are its tools."

"Thank you for speaking more clearly, it is appreciated..." Fury responded. The black dragoness frowned. "Fate is cruel for torturing so many souls when things could be ended so easily you know. ...You say I am on the right track and that everything has it's own track. How will I know if I step off into the wrong one? I am no less a tool of fate than you or anyone else."
