"Perhaps... but maybe there is something deeper to it as well. I do not know if my worries are paranoia or based on a deeper feeling. I'm just uncertain."

"Could- or rather would- Crimson assist in putting your worries to rest? I know he may not recall every detail of past lives but at the very least he may know a thing about the relationship between the two. Then in if he remembered multiple scenarios it may not be helpful at all. They may have had things a million different ways in the past if at all."
She placed her tail over his in a gesture of reassurance. "I am sure worry will only ruin your mind, though. We need to focus on the task at hand. How will we possibly manage to assassinate Daigmar?"

Serrion shook his head. "Crimson is uncertain. He tells me that in past lives Ebony does not seem to repeat herself as often as Gaulroach. Her path of rebirth is on average with most mortals."

"I suppose it makes sense, then. Ebony is individual even in this life. She adores nature, she feels one with it. Reincarnation is a controversial issue. She could have skipped phases like a normal mortal, being any number of creatures. Hell she could have done almost anything."

Serrion nodded in agreement. "Though maybe it would not be the best to mention such to her... She seems the type to become offended if it's suggested she's anything less than a dragon."

Fury chuckled softly. The laugh kind of eased the stress of the conversation. "Yes... very much so. Which I find slightly amusing because if you told a Moon Dragon they were once a bug or a cat you would very much get support for the statement. Though many of us simply say once we die we go to the Spirit Realm unless destined for greater things such as becoming a Guardian. You would call them the night sky's stars."

Serrion tilted his head. "You believe the stars and the moon both to be dragons?"

"It's a Clan belief... more like a bedtime tale we tell hatchlings to ease worries. It's up to the individual if they want to consider it a truth. I hold onto it as a memory because it was a childhood story I loved. Moon Dragons, as you know, are very faithful to the moon itself. We believe that those who die are examined. Some will return as spirits, others will rest in the Spirit Realm, some may find another purpose in the afterlife, others are reincarnated. The truly special or gifted become Guardians. They watch over us at night and guard over our hopes and dreams. They provide us light in the darkness. At times they even grant wishes you know. That's why humans wish on stars. They got it from my Clan's culture."

Serrion smiles and looks up at the sky. He doesn't say anything but curls back up on the ground. He knew something that Fury didn't but... decided that it would only likely offend her. And maybe she was still right too. "They listen to wishes at all times?"

"Not always, unfortunately. They're not as powerful as gods nor do they acclaim to be. Or at least that's how my Mother always explained it. You have to control your own life and not try to leave everything to the Guardians." Fury smiled back. "If everyone did they'd be too busy to do a thing now wouldn't they? ...It just feels nice to confide wishes in somebody."

"It is." He nodded in agreement. "And they'll never betray your trust with the secrets you give them. At least they never have for me."

"Me either..." She agreed. Fury trailed off and heaved a sigh. "Mother always told me one of them was the founder of our Clan you know. I'd always makes sure to wish on that one. Sounds silly, huh?"

Serrion tilted her head. "Do you believe that that one will be more likely to answer your wishes?"

"Not quite... I used to believe her to be the most powerful Guardian up there. She founded the Moon Dragons and kept the mountain safe by herself for years before even taking a mate and beginning the Clan and its ritualistic mindset. I always admired her resolve and strength by the tales I had been told as a hatchling. Not to mention her family line is connected to mine. She's directly related to my mother and thus me as well."

Serrion smiled. "Then perhaps she is as I said after all."
