((This is a few days later...about the same time as Gaulroach's thread is))
Ebony was pacing in her corridor, stratching small lines into the delacate flooring by accident with her talons.
"M'lady, if you keep this up you'll tear a hole through!" said a female human about the age of 21. She had brown hair that was tightly drawn into a bun and simple work clothes. She also had a thin rapier sword at her hip.
"Thank you for your concern Raya, but we have other things that are much more pressing than me putting a few dents in a floor that is easily repaired." Ebony replied, still pacing. "The death toll was entirely too high, please send for Orin? I need exact numbers, and the names of the more important ones too."
The woman seemed a bit bitter about this news of the death rate, but she nodded curtly and exited the room with a swift wpin of her heels.
-------
As Ebony paced a few more minutes, at least ten, the door was opened once more. The same woman, Raya, came in. She was followed by a sturdy looking man of age 25.
"Well Orin?" she asked, stopping only to look into his eyes for a moment.
"Entirely too many M'lady," he began as he ran a hand through his short brown hair. There was a small clang of armor when he did this because of the black metal platebody and platelegs trimmed with dark purple he was wearing. "Fifty-seven dragons, fourty-nine humans, and of course...Tagarn."
Raya looked away at the mention of her brother's name. It was too painful to think about.
"Tagarn as well?" Ebony asked surprised. There was more than just a small hint of sorrow and sympathy for Raya's loss. "And any more of my honor guard?
"Just three....Japlar, Syron, and Zatto." Orin reported.
