The noise and movement at his back sent the tip of his tail sliding through the coarse pebbles, the edge of the blade tracing patterns of unrest. His aura-reading skills were far from fully developed - but there was little malice in the air. Leander shifted his weight again.
"Seems like this lake is something of a meeting place today."

Zrail tilted his green and gold head to the side a bit, looking over each dragon and filing the information away in his brain. He cleared his throat and composed himself from his rather inauspicious landing.
"If you don't mind me asking...would someone mind telling me where exactly I am? My mental map seems to have miscalculated the distance to where I was actually heading." Zrail asked dryly, looking between both dragons standing in front of him and his landing rut.

Soa eased noticeably, deciding that an attack was not forthcoming. She circled around the two dragons and sat back on her haunches a few lengths away when she was in better view of both and out in the open.
"I would like to know also, really." She eventually spoke, "I just landed here recently ,pushed out of the nest and territory by my parents far to the north where the ice never melts. Oh, how rude of me, greetings I'm Soa, I hope I'm not trespassing?" The black and red dragoness picked at pebbles with her fore claws nervously as she spoke.

Leander slowly raised an eye ridge, the reflections of his silver hide shifting imperceptibly towards the green spectrum as he chanced a glance downwards to check the state of his claws. They didn't appear any worse for wear after their tussle with the beach pebbles.
"I assure you, I have little more idea than either of you - I'm simply passing through. This is non-clan territory, though, for what it's worth. The scent of dragon is stale here." He fell silent for a moment, green eyes darting once more around the forest line. Being surprised twice in one day was clearly enough for him. It took him a few seconds to note the offer of a name; he relaxed slightly back into his haunches and simply said,
"Leander."

Zrail scowled for a moment before rearranging his features into a more pleasent fixture and filing the names away in his mind with the other information. "I'm Zrail, it is a pleasure to make your accquaintences. " he nodded, keeping his voice pleasent, even though the only thing he really wanted was to get as far away from the dragons as possible.

Soa noded her head slowly. "Pleasure to meet you both. I hate to bother but I am new to these lands, could some one tell me a small bit about it? Where to go, who not to cross?" The young dragoness lowered her head slightly, embarrassed at her own inexperience with the world.

Leander stretched lightly, uncurling his legs from where they were beginning to cramp up beneath him.
"I know only of the lands to the south - here, sketchily at best." His smile was seen more in the tilt of his head than any obvious facial expression. "But the forest extends a far way northwards, towards the ice. Further south you'll find clan-lands. Blood Dragons. Moon Dragons. Shining Scales." Green eyes darkened to jade. "And enemies, too."

Zrail took slight interest in the last bit and once again filed it away. "Yes. I do not know much about the north lands either I'm afraid." he shrugged, quirking an eye ridge and twitching his tail.

Soa shifted her weight and picked at the ground with a claw, clans, enemies? What had she found? "Dragons here live in clans, and enemies?" She asked, her tail skittering across pebbles, sending them into the lake with little plunks. "I'm afraid I don't know what I'm getting into in this world, leaving my home territory." She admitted with a sheepish "Grin", more of a slight showing of her teeth.

The other eye ridge rose up to join its fellow.
"You don't have clans?"
His question was half interest, half incredulity. The lands extending around them for hundreds of miles were clan-claimed - one group or another living and hunting within varying ranges. All his life, Leander had been taught to be aware of other dragons and their territories. A land existing without clans was almost inconceivable.
But his education was by no means definitive - hence the interest. His penchant for knowledge was bound to get him into trouble one day; if the Taisha could see him now, asking questions before fighting... he'd probably be disowned.
The thought troubled him, a twisting between his ribs. He chose to ignore it, concentrating on the present company instead of his own problems.

Soa shook her head. "No, we don't. "The dragoness ceased her picking at the ground as she relaxed, her tail swishing over the pebbles. "There is so little food where my kin are that if We chose to live in large groups we would starve and destroy the lands. Most of our food as it was came from the iced over seas and the occasional migrating herds if the summer was warm enough." Soa explained. "We just established a mate, a territory along the sea and had very small clutches far apart. I was only pushed out of my territory after fifty moons due to me maturing and two new eggs being laid."

It made sense; he managed to admit it without words, blade-tip brushing through scattered stones whilst green eyes brightened, focus tightened.
"Different, but logical. You won't find a shortage of food in this area. It always seems to be plentiful for much of the year - but I only speak for further south."

"The south then, I should go there an look around? Any dragons and places I should avoid?" Soa stretched out her wings, fanning them lightly before folding them back up as she rose to her feet, stretching her spine for a long moment. "Thank you for explaining this land to me, and the help, It is greatly appreciated."

Leander glanced to the sky, judging the position of the sun and absently working out how much daylight he had left to complete his journey.
"If you're looking for other dragons, south is the obvious choice. But company comes hand in hand with danger. There are many you would do well to avoid." The silver dragon shifted his weight, disturbing the pebbles slightly. "I won't colour your opinions with mine; you can make your own judgements about who to approach and who to leave well alone. Though I advise you to steer clear of anyone working for Gaulroach or Rafael. Ebony, too. If you need a safe haven, there are dragons there who will help you."
