Tara muttered words to herself in her made up language as she cast a spell. The lights in the normally bright room went out and instead little flecks of what seemed to be glow in the dark dragon scales floated around near the cieling to bring illumination. Everywhere there were the signs of Halloween: spider webs with a little bit of a Tara-esque touch to them, meaning they had some kind of inner glow-stick effect somehow, draped all around the walls. In various places were runes etched into the furnature and glowing red eyes looking on from shadows. She finished her magic weaving and laughed as she glanced around. "I think I've out-done myself this time!"
"You could never outdo yourself Tara. You keep getting fancier with it every time!" Came a familiar voice. It was powerful but not deep at all but rather feminine with an underlying musical tinge to it that seemed to make it the voice of a goddess. Upon turning one's head they could see a stunning black dragoness of massive size. Her horns that curved back had little spider ornaments hanging off the tips. Her wings, though folded, gave hint that Tara had once again painted things on the underside. Her eyes which were normally a bright molten, yet soft at the same time, red were now a graceful midnight blue. Naturally having no pupil it was even more odd to see her with the black slits in the center. Every single scale coating her body had a blue rune on top, something Tara had borrowed from Tommy's idea last year of giving red runes on Gaulroach's scales.
"Too true, Ebony. I suppose one of these days they will become so extravagant that we will all just be crushed under ornaments," Tara mused. This earned little more than a simple smirk from Mistress Ebony who allowed her eyes to wander around the well decorated room.
The great dragoness shook her head. "I doubt that Tara. This room seems to get bigger every time we throw a party. Is it because we seem to attract more guests to this place? Or simply because your ego tells you to add more beauty?" Her blue eyes flashed red momentarily and vines rose from the ground out of seemingly nowhere. They entwined into the shape of a talon covered in silver and black roses. "I can add my own beauty too you know."
"I'm sure everyone will appreciate your magic as well Ebony. You always do a well-done job." Tara, in a lightening fast movement due to her vampire half, glided over to a deep red punch bowl and set it on Ebony's vines along with the rest of the snacks and various things, leaving the black table bare save for a music player.
Her lips turned up into a grin, fangs overlapping her bottom lip. "And now the party has begun..."
She sat down and looked over her own costume while waiting for her friends. As with last year she was a character of her own...and as with last year she was allowed to make it real using her author powers but chose not to due to who she was. This year she had no glasses due to the earthly invention of contact lenses. Her skin was blue from makeup as well as a combination of tightly fitting blue thermal clothing. On her head was a long silver braided wig with a little bit of the bangs seperate to hang over her shoulders. Underneath this, for it was the only way to get it to stay tied, was a yellow piece of cloth tied around her forehead. It had black studs and a jet black seashell that rested between her now silver eyebrows. She laughed, brushing some blue makeup dust off of her green shirt and shorts. "Painting myself blue was probably the oddest idea I've had in a while..."
