There was a ringing of footsteps down the metal hallways as the young mech fighter walked through. She brushed some blue hair out of her face and continued onwards, giving the occasional nod of recognition to any passing fighters.
She stood stiffly, giving away the fact that she was new. Most experienced fighters had a sort of special walk which made them look like they really knew how to dish out a good battle. However, this fourteen year old girl stood like she wanted to appear to be those people. Every move gave her away, even the tiny smile forced on the corners of her mouth.
She placed a hand on the keypad, letting it scan. The doors opened in front of her, the hallway suddenly filling with light and noise. "Welcome, Keena Inta."
Keena strutted into a room filled with monitors all along the walls. Fighters stood around and talked, but most were planning to do exactly what she was. She sat at a table and began taking notes on the battle strategies of the fighters on screen.

"That thing's gotta have a weakness." A girl sitting down by a table a little off to the side said. She wore a jet black jumpsuit, which was the usual Mech pilot's wear, and on it's chest was the symbol depicting a jet black Dragon. She had long green hair and odd almost yellow eyes. On the table infront of her were some papers and a helmet, also black and molded in the image that just sorta resembled a sleek dragon's face. With her at the table was a slightly overweight man who was typeing in a laptop while giving occasional glances to the tv screens around them. "Would you relax." He said to her, he shook his head and then took a drink from his soda. "Steel Serpant's not even a regulation Mech. It's never going to be on the battlefield against you or anyone else for that matter." "Unless we bring the fight to it." The girl corrected him. "Keep hacking and find some weakspots. Even if you can find the smallest opening, shoving the Maelstrom blade inside should do the trick." "Instead of this why don't we spend the time researching on who you're facing next?" The big man sighed. "You do realize you're in a match coming up?"

{Never actually tried to roleplay this before, and I've no claim to extensive knowledge about Mech fighters, but improvisation is good, right? Seriously though - you guys'll have to point out any glaring mistakes I make. Give me a bit to type out a decent intro and stuff, and I'll join in if that's alright. ^.~}

Somewhere near the back of the room, a pair of indigo eyes looked up at the fighting pair on the monitor with something like awe.
Mech fighting had been something he had always dreamed of doing ever since he was a boy, growing up on a far-flung homestead on one of the smaller continents. It had always seemed so glamourous, so full of skill... so much more exciting than farming fields all day or planting crops or... well, most other jobs in existence!
So the moment he had a chance, he'd grabbed the earliest flight across the world.
It'd taken him a while to become accustomed to city life, and even longer to become truly streetwise. But now, Gabriel was most definitely a city creature. The boy who'd once been a simple farmhand was now an educated student in the art of mech fighting. Not that he had his own mech yet. It was still being built in time for his graduation in a couple of days.
He smiled just at the thought of it - his own mech. That he would own. His. Well, as long as his results from final exams were good enough.
But he hoped they were.
Gabriel scrubbed his messy black hair away from his face and concentrated on the screen again. Jeans rustled as he got up and padded over to where the technicians were working.
Time to try and learn some more moves. After all - when he got his mech, he wanted to be able to actually do something and not look like a total idiot.
