A low whining sort of sound blew over the empty market as those selling beasts filed in with their 'wares'.
A man with red hair on a cart drawn by black horses pulled in. He jumped off nimbly because he was young and then ordered the horses to stop. "Woah, boys!"
He drew back the flap of the tent in front of them and smiled. "Time to make some money, eh?"
Turning back to the cart, he opened it and began unloading cages of creatures. Inside of one was a miniature dragon, perched in the cage of a bird, drooping his head.
(The dragon is my actual charrie, the man is just an unimportant)

A bit away from other cages, mostly for the safety of those others incase something happened to roll in... There was a pit, filled to the top with water, it was a good 15 meters (50 feet) by 12 (40 feet) meters square, going down a good 15 meters in deepness. Whatever it was for they had planned it out well, and for something very specific. Things like sharks were often sold at the market for someone that wanted something exotic to swim their lake or such, but usually those were carried in glass tanks and the sharks themselves could not be very big. A large cart was rolled up to the edge of the watery pit, being pulled by very nervous looking horses. The men were running about, shouting orders, many of them had spears aimed for the entrance to this cart. It was covered at all sides by a thick red blanket so what could be inside was hidden carefully. Then with more yelling the gate was opened, a few men carefully lifted up the bottem of the blanket and poked spears through the bars in at what was in there. There was an angry hiss from inside and the men continued to yell. Though most was cut off from sight by the men circleing the area, something could be seen making it's way out of the cart, low to the ground it seemed to slither right from the cart and slid into the water of the pit, once again out of sight. The men then took care to close up the spikes and bars set up around this "exibit" and now people were free to walk up and see what exactly now moved restlessly through it's cramped watery prison.

A short distence from both of those two was what at first glance seemed to be a normal horse, too fragile looking to be any use but with a fine glossy white coat (for though white horses are still usealy called gray no matter how pale they are, gray could never fit this level of white which made fresh snow look dirty in comparrison). On closer inspection, if you stared really hard, prehaps out of the corner of your eyes, you could see the flicker of something shinning in the middle of its fore head. Sometimes also there was a slight swishing sound like feathery wings spreading, at others the sound of lethery wings but none wore visable. But it wasent untill you smelt the tell tall scent of fire and saw the faint mist like tendrils of smoke lazely drifting from round its mouth and nose that you start to get an inkling of why it was held down by several thick metal chains that stopped it from moving.

The dragon raised his head, looking into the eyes of the white horse. I haven't seen one of your kind in centuries, friend. Where do you all hide? To make room in the cage, he tried to shift. His form wavvered a little, but the bars glowed in runes and forced him to remain a dragon.

One of it's captors moved up to the edge of the bars, there was about 5 men stationed all around and five more at break, each one was armed incase the creature restlessly swimming through the water got violent. The man took the bucket he was holding, it was full of fish. The movement in the water slowed down to a crawl and when the man threw one of the fish over the pit something snapped out. A reptillian head snapped out of the water, catching the fish in the air before going in once more, it's long snake like body following. The creature was about fifty feet long fom head to the tip of its tail. It was covered in blueish green scales with odd markings of yellow or blue. It was draconian judging by the shape of it's head and the intelligence behind it's silver eyes. It's front legs were clawed and webbed, attacthed to them were small blue colored fins. It's back legs were little more than fins, though magnificent in size and shape they almost seemed to be wings. It's tail was also like a large tail fin, all of the same blue. It was an Ocean Dragon.

The pure white horse that was not a horse turned to watch the ocaen dragons movement before turing back its manicle incased head to the one in the cage. "We do not hide" It said, not with words but its mind. It had a beautiful musical voice that was clearly female. "Unicorns can sometimes be found in woods and pegusi above mountains but you would be lucky to find ever of my parents, the unipeg or deamon mount. As for us rare crosses between the two, we have been hunted to the brink of extinction. The only reason that im still alive is that my foolosh capters do not know exactly what they have chained here, but they shall soon find out!"

My holder obviously knows what he's got... that I could shift to a much larger form and smash this cage to bits if I wanted to. He's put seals all around it.

"And my capturures might not know exactly what I am but they know im dengures. Why else would I have iron chains all over me, pinning me to the ground? If they new what I was, no dought they would be using enchanted silver insted of iron but iron still weakens me..."

If they knew what you were they'd be smart and use manticore blood. It's more poisonous to you because of the balance of good and evil. He corrected, smiling. He was obviously a being who had been alive many centuries.

"Im well awer of that" the white horse mutterd. "But Manticores are also very rare these days and my helaing powers from my unicorn side would eventualy discover a cure for it. But enough bickering about what would keep me chained down longest, I habent even intreduced your self. And im also curius at how they managed to catch you, and that" She shook her head slightly tewords the ocean dragon, cousing link after link of the chains to rattle and her capters to look round at her quickly. "No doubt youll be curous to find out how they cought me, judjing on your prier enquires".

The Ocean dragon survaved somewhat, it balanced by placing it's front claws on the ground just outside it's pit. Though it got some looks from it's captors, they didn't do anything about it since the creature was not trying to escape the bars. With silver eyes it watched the unfamiliar terrain around it.

While waiting for an answer the horse turned its head whith yet more jingling of chains tewords the ocean dragon. Another unusual find... she wonderd as well how they had managed to get hold of it. Dident ocean dragons usealy live deep underwater, away from the humans?

The shifter nodded. My name is many different things... Just as my form changes so it does too. However, you may call me Gela. And as for how they caught me I am not so sure myself. I remember sleeping, waking up, a fight, losing a lot of blood, then a rune being inscribed into my scales on my shoulder, the end of the story is where I am now.

"But not for long im sure. Pity im chained down so much, im sure a few well placed kicks could get you out of there. No, wait a minute that would probly kill you, I think I know a spell that might just help." She stopped a minute to test the strengh of the chains but she could not pull against them without drauring unwanted attention to herself. "AS for me, personly, my name is Dark Side of the Moon. They cought me after an arial combat with a Featherd Serpant, you know how terretorial they get. I was worn out after the fight and decided to land. Near by was a pond, if I had been more awake I would have touched the surface with my horn to rid it of the sleeping poisen it cantained. But I was tired and stupid, they were obviosly poisining the pond so they could easily kill any dear and the like that drank there without wasting arrows, but they ended up with me and realising they could probly get a good price for what ever I was, I ended up here like you.

Makes sense... But no, attacking the cage wouldn't injure me. The seals also take hits so nobody could kill me accident while they moved the cage around.
