( since my last one was so much of a failure >.> I've decided to start a new one. This one has no plot and nothing planned. Let us just see where it goes. It starts in a tavern in a village on a well traveled road and it is nighttime. )

Though the inn was fairly crowded (atleast to a point that the Inn keeper would be making much but not necisarily that people were tripping over each other) there stood a table that only one figure sat in. This spot was closest to the burning fireplace, though a bit away from door. The area around this table in return was fairly empty, most people would rather sit on the side of the table opposite from this dark person. The person was man, or atleast he appeared to be. He wore black robes that completely covered his body, he was most likely man as he did not have the shape of a woman and those who had heard him speak to the inn keeper for a room when he first entered had heard a raspy man's voice. His robe was hooded and he kept the hood up, his eyes downcast so that non could get a good look at his face, not that anyone wanted to be kept in the man's glare... Though his robe was not marked in anyway (he did not appear to be a sort of priest or noble), all the same there was the inmistakable aura of power about him. A staff leaned against him, the staff he had come walking in with. It was obviously more than a walking stick, though the wood of the staff was nomore than smooth average wood to the eyes, it was adorned on the top with the carved image in a gold like metal of a dragon's face, and poking out of the jaws of the beast was a very large crystal. It was masterfully carved and though the gem was large and would fetch a hefty sum, no one, not even the those among the tavern known to be thieves and cutthroats wanted to come near the "Mage". The mage, as by all signs he appeared to be one, had turned down all offers of ale or food and only asked for hot water. When he recieved it he poured it into a single cup. Fishing a bag from among the folds of his robes he bround out what appeared to be leaves and gently stirred them around with the hot water. The drink appeared to be tea of some sort and the Mage silent drank at this, eyes looking only down at it or beyond it for he may as well have been thinking much deeper. For the most part the rest in the room tried to ignore his being there. Every once and awhile the mage would cough, a cough that seemed to rack through his whole body, but everyone tried their best to ignore the eiry presence of the dark mage.

A woman with fair skin and body shape was sitting over at the bar, sipping a glass of ale that seemed to be a bit green in colour. After a bit, she crinkled her nose in disgust at it and put the glass down on the counter. Brushing a bit of ebony hair away from her eyes, a small flash of skin could be seen revealing her ears: Elf. She glanced back at the dark mage with a smile. Seems like an interesting fellow.

The mage gave another one of his coughs, it sounded like it was tearing apart his whole body. He took a drink from whatever sort of tea he had. To those close enough it had a bitter smell, but then again no one was close. He seemed stronger after drinking the tea, but his skin was still very pale and his hands had long slender fingers. He was fairly tall but didn't look like a big man.

The woman rolled her shoulders in way of stretching then walked over to him, barely noticing the smell of the tea. "'Ello."

( it's not really tea, it just looks like a type of tea ) For a moment the mage didn't say or do anything except take another sip of his drink. When he decided that she was speaking to him though he put the glass down again. The mage looked up at her, his face finally being upturned you could see what was under the black hood of his robes. The skin on his face was just as pale white as his hands, his eyes were blue but very dark, his stare was intence. He showed no expression on his face, not even that of annoyance, and gave her a quick look up and down. Wondering what sort of bet this woman was undergoing to be bold enough to approach him. People didn't generally trust magic and therefor were usually wary of mages. "Hello yourself." His voice was low, it was a bit raspy but their was still strength behind it.

A pure white cat wove imperiasly through the legs of the people in the tavern, easily dodging the kicks that came its way every now and then. It stopped in front of the mage, sencing with its animal sixth sence that there was something strange about this two-legger. It peered up at him and meawed.

She smiled, seeing the reactions of everyone else. "You attract quite a bit of attention from these people you know." She looked down at the cat and picked it up, petting it gently down its neck and behind an ear, sometimes rubbing her thumb under its chin.

The cat purred deeply, sometimes it stayed cat so long that it forgot it was human, but it always rememberd if the need arose to turn back, though it hadent for almost 200 years. A cats life was so much simpler and more cosy then a humans compecated life. The ways it was differnt from any other cat (apart from the turning into a human elemont) was that it was more intelogent then a normal cat, could do a tuny bit of magic if pushed (like the time it accidently fell into a large vat of wine and then found its self flying back out at speed), it could also understand human speech and ways, and oh there was also the living for ages and ages too.

"So I have." The Mage but shrugged and took another sip from his tea. It really did have a bitter smell to it, whether it's taste was similar the mage did not give a sign of it. He looked up at her again, icy eyes boring into hers. "You would draw a fair bit of attention too if I spoke of what you are. Though the elves are not hated as us practising the art of the arcane... If I understand politics as well as I do you would be mistrusted as well, perhaps even being accused as a spy?" He spoke soft enough that only him, her and the cat could hear. He put the mug of "tea" down and folded his arms up within his black robes.

The cat sat down on the floor and contemplated the two creatures before it, hoping the two huge creatures would shay something interesting for it to store away in its almost human mind.

She put the cat down, her hair slipping but still covering the tips of her ears. It seemed to have been styled to do that. She raised an eyebrow. "Spying? Moi? No. Though you're right in saying it would draw...unwanted... attention to me. Then again it wouldn't be new."

"Then why come over here?" The Mage asked her, his green eyes flashed wih amusement and his fingers lightly tapped on his staff. "You are drawing attention to yourself by coming over and speaking to me. People are distrustful of magic, so they are affrai of those who use it, and naturally they would wonder about someone not affraid of a mage. More importantly a black maged robe." He smirked slightly, though he looked very pale and drawn of skin, from this close the Elf would be able to judge his age to somewhere around 17.

The elf laughed, grinning. "Which is the reason to come over, silly. I'm a bit odd, always have been. I like to speak to those who look interesting. 'Nuff said."

( Stan Lee's favorite line XD )
The mage frowned and his eyes narrowed a bit, not understanding what this girl was talking about. He knew elves to be odd but this was strange. "And going over and talking to 'interesting' people hasn't gotten you killed yet has it?"
