( this is a medival fantasy RP I want to try RPing. Loosely based on D&D [ok, more than loosely, but only because i'm using some of their creatures that have not been released under the free lisencing agreement] There is a big plot. You can use characters of any race you feel. i'd suggest atleast humanoid [Humans, elves, dwarves, anything roughly human sized with two legs and two arms and stands upright. You get the idea] and not larger un-human beings such as dragons preferably. Since this is D&D style you should know that the dragon races are generally divided by color [the chromatic dragons - Red, Blue, Green, Black and White - are evil. The Metallic dragons - Bronze, Brass, Copper, Silver and gold - are good. There are other species of dragons, but not as well known as these primary five. )
The land is roughly what england would look like in medival times, castles, villiages and the such. Though this world is far from that of our own, not only geographicly, but on a much more important scale. Humans rule most of the lands, Elves the forests and Dwarves the mountains. Humans must constantly war with each other as well as the savage races of Orcs and Ogres. Elves must face the onslaught of the Goblinoids and ancient evil dragons. Dwarves fight underground with the races that survive even further below the surface, such as the Drow (dark elves) and a host of even more horrible unspeakable evils. The story starts at night, in an old villiage of Black Oak. All lights are out except in the few taverns in town. The most well known tavern, the Eye of the Sun, is also an inn frequented by usually only by the "run of the mill" town men and travelers who seek to spend the night in town. Though the town is human it is not uncommon of travelers of the other races to frequent this tavern. Elves, Dwarves and even the odd Half-Orc are welcomed here with a mug of the finest ale... Though as friendly as it seems, not every race is really welcome here as one might think at first. Our story begins in this tavern at this night.
( feel free to join in with your characters here. You can have as many as you want, so long as you can handle them )

Squall leaned against the tavern wall, watching the stars. People walked past her, some glancing at her woundering what a 13 year old girl was doing out this late, alone. No body aproched her though because of her unmistackable area of power. She was waighted for something. Not even she could say what it was she was waighting for. For something to happen preahaps...

A slim built woman was sitting at the bar, a mug held loosely in her hand as she sipped the ale with an air of grace. Her light hazel eyes kept glancing about at what she called 'the locales'. She set the empty glass down and brushed a strand of silvery black hair out of her eyes. "Another drink please." she ordered with a slightly musical and amused tone.
Lifting the cup to her lips once it was refilled, she again sipped her drink. A slight turn of her head proved her to have pointed ears... an elf of some kind?
She cracked her knuckles, turning her head once more. Her hair shifted again and covered the ears from view as she searched the crowd for a familiar face.
It was a wonder no men had taken a chance, a seemingly weak woman sitting at a bar half drunk was a usual temptation. Especially considering the fact that her green and silver shirt was low in the back and the front, meeting the brown pants by her hips.

{This should be interesting... ^^}
Bundled away in the corner of the pub, concealed gratefully by a rather over large brown traveling cloak, a pair of vivid indigo eyes gazed steadily out at the rather... varied clientele the small tavern was currently housing. Many different species appeared to be here, hidden or in plain sight, whichever suited their purposes.
Their purposes were of no concern. But to put it lightly, it intrigued him. How all of these species, so different in culture and background, could so happily mingle over a mug of rather suspect ale and exchange tales of epic deeds and tragic misfortune was beyond him.
But then again, he wasn't the most social being in existence was he?
A tuft of brown hair made itself visible as he shifted his head to twist around, facing the door as it swung open and shut in a gentle creaking rhythm.
Ulani decided that keeping his mouth shut would be the best plan of action, and he pulled his cloak more tightly around him, propping his legs up on the low table. After all, sooner or later they'd remember that old saying - it's the quiet ones you should watch. They always did things that could be... most unexpected.
{^.~ I like him already! *huggles spooky new character-thing*}

The door to the tavern was pushed open yet again. Like always just about everyone's gave sleepily turned to the door to see if it was someone they recognized. Unlike the usual their eyes did not leave, it was enough to wake up even the drunkest man there. A vaguely human being stood there. He was not a half orc, as he did not have the usual half tusks, and he was not at all of human blood. His body was covered in a fine tanish brown fur. But he was not even a full orc either which in this particular town may have been an improvement for Orc raids were not to common this side of the country. This humanoid's eyes were a dull black and grey in color. He had slight fangs in his teeth, the fact he didn't have tusks ment he was not an orc. He stood at about six foot seven and was well muscular, looking like someone who spent their life in more dangerous areas than a town, he appeared male. He wore black dyed leather armor with strips of metal where it was most needed. The only parts of his body that was revealed was his face - he wore a helmet that revealed only his face, and his hands were also uncovered, they had pointed nails but not enough to be claws. On his back a very large sword was strapped on and at his belt was a crossbow. He stood tall and looked down at those sitting at the table, many were standing and reaching for weapons. A table of dwarves in the corner already were standing and holding axes. This being was what was known as a hobgoblin, a larger cousin of the normal goblin species. Unlike their cowardly relatives the Hobgoblins were known for their military diciplin, it was that that made an army of hobgoblins more dangerous than even an army of the mighty Orcs. The hobgoblin slashed his hand through the air in a strong physical expression. "Keep down your weapons." He hissed angrily. "I have not come here to fight. I have not drawn a weapon, If I came to raid you would I lot have my sword in my hands?" At his words many hesitated for a moment, but the dwarves seemed determined. The Inn keeper, a large human who looked rather mean but usually would let you stay the night free if you could tell a good story. He stepped up and waved his hands. "Common now, everyone get back to drinkin. So long as this guys a payin customer, he's alowed. I'll have no blood here." He shouted. It was enough for even the dwarves to grudgingly return to their seats.

(Im planning to reveal more as I go along)
Squall stepped inside the tavern. Not because it was raining hard outside, something which would have driven many inside but because she had seen something mildly interesting looking go in. Unfortunetly once inside she saw that there was no fighting or arguing, just lots of drunk looking poeple, many asleep. She quitly walked up to the bar, not pulling off her cloak and keeping her head hidden. She asked the barkeeper if there was any water avaluable, a strange thing to want but it was all she ever drank normally. She sat down with a sigh and watched water drip off her cloak sleeve on to the floor, she was soaked through. Near her was a woman with interesting ears just showing through her hair and Squall wounderd vagually what she was, elf?

Nadurak snorted in satisfaction, seeing even the dwarves return to their seats. His people and theirs had a long bloody history together. Even he had killed his fair share of strong dwarven warriors... The hobgoblin moved away to a table, one near the back where the only other occupant was someone who seemed to be trying almost too hard to hide behind a large brown travelling cloak. The reason of the man's hiding was to no concern to Nadurak. He would not ask and hoped that the man had no curiosity in the hobgoblin either. It took awhile for a serving woman to make her way over to this table, hesitating with fearful stares in the Goblinoid's direction. She finally did and bowed ligtly. "Umm... Sir... Would you like..." She was stammering painfully. Nadurak gave one of his best fanged grins, which only served to frighten her more. "Ale, whicher those lads are having." He nodded in the direction of the dwarves. "I figure they have good taste in the drink." It was a compliment, but he knew the dwarves would only take it worse. The serving girl nodded and quickly scurried away. "Ye have nothing to fear from me lass." the Hobgoblin called after her. "I don't eat human and my race finds yer females revolting."

Squall smiled at the remark and thought to herself, well... we all have our own tasts in this sort of matter... She could have called over that she found him equally revolting, but she dident feel like drawing too much atention to her self and any way, it would imply that she was human too....

The elf woman smiled to herself at the comments passing around the bar. "Silly stupid folk. They fear something they don't even know to properly fear and yet they take me as an innocent woman just because I am female of a race they think peaceful." she mumbled, lifting her drink once more. She glanced over at Squall. "Having a look at my ears?" she questioned, amused.

Nadurak got his ale eventually, after much more hesitation from the serving women. He held it up close and sniffed it, trying to judge what type it was. It was a dwarven ale, good quality. It would be expensize but he had enough coins to pay for this and perhaps a night's stay, so long as he could get a secure room for himself. Otherwise he would leave town after the drink. Still he choose to ignore the other's presense at the table, the human's business had nothing to do with the Hobgoblin. So his thoughts turned to the future. In the morning he would head west, further away from the mountains and his own people. He had left his home in a hurry, and there was a mess of few of his dead clan members back there. All because he had shown weakness... He had refused to kill an innocent, he was a hunted creature now. He knew though he was strong though, strong enough to kill anyone who got in his way. One hand twitched towards his greatsword but he busied it will the mug of ale.
Outside the town, out far in the darkness past where anyone could see, many forms gathered. There was a lot of them and they waited there in the darkness. Large and intimidating shapes. One of then, a fair bit more thin and less physically imposing, was still the deadliest one of them. White eyes scanned the town while a thin pale hand gripped at a tree.

Squall turned her head slightly, sensing creatuers with violent intent. They were quite far away, probly outside the town but they were here to cause trouble. As fun as trouble could be, she dident revel in innecent people getting hurt. She shifted possision, raching for the seath of an oddly shaped sward that had been hidden up till now.

The elven woman said something under her breath in elven tongue then walked over to the Hobgoblin. "You know," she commented,"I do believe you are drawing much more attention than you intended. And not just from people actually in this bar."

Nadurak put his mug down at the approaching woman. (btw Ryuu, only Fury's character came over so yours is still on the other side of the room. No way you could have whispered that). "Not just frum people inside the bar... What exactly are you talkin' about?"
The thin being raised his hand, one thin finger pointed at the town. The beings all around him begain to become more active. With low grunts and growls they drew axes and crude swords and moved towards the town.
