Sandine sighed, sitting on a tree branch overlooking the lake. The waterfall on the other side of the forrest pool was the only noise she'd heard all day. Damn it...where are all the things to kill? Some place so sickly peaceful SHOULD have some poor souls near! she thought in annoyance. She was glad to be in the shadows, or else her black shirt, boots, and skirt wouldn't blend in at all....not that the red short she wore underneath her skirt blended anyway. Her pointed dark elf ears picked up some nearby noise, but it didn't sound like anything decently sized. She just fingered the hilts of her twin poision daggers in annoyance.

Footsteps rang through the relatively silent forest. Walking into the clearing and her site was something she probably wasn't expecting as much. It seemed human, for the most part. He was tall, six and a half feet tall, and mucled. He wore black stained lether armor, though it was only armor in places that needed protection, otherwise it was just black cloths. His arms were only covered in cloth, though his shoulders had iron pads over them. He also wore a black stained helmet with two horns sticking out of each of the left and right sides and generally pointing up. Most of his face was hidden by black cloth that covered up to his nose. The most noticable feature was the two handed greatsword strapped to his back. The weapon was huge and menacing looking, though was beutifully inscribed with runes and well made, it must have cost some amount. The man croutched by the lake, with his back turned to her. He lowered the cloth on his face and splashed some water over his face before putting it back on.

She eyed him over. "Best not attack this one...he seems about my height...but strength wise I'm outmatched." Sandine slipped her daggers back into their sheaths and jumped down off the branch. Joining forces would be a better choice...A fight seems unwise.

The warrior stood up, still glancing at the water, and at his reflection it seemed. He muttured something in a gutteral language as he just watched himself for a moment and stood up. From closer he seemed almost a bit taller. Maybe about 6'7 or 6'8, sometimes from distances it was hard to judge height. He did not seem to have heard her or noticed her at all, and his back was still turned.

She just kept walking casually forward, her footsteps nearly silent...until she stepped on a twig. "Damn it." she muttered to herself. Though she held her breath, hoping that the figure wouldn't prove hostile.

He didn't even turn around, still watching the water before him, he said something else in that gutteral language to himself before turning to his right side. He seemed to be ignoring her if he hadn't noticed her yet, he pulled out a cantine from his supplies on the ground and filled it with water from the lake.

She smirked slightly. So the fellow really DIDN'T have any sense at all to attack. She gripped the handle of one of her twin daggers out of reaction.

He then sealed the cantine up and put it back with his supplies, then stood up and put the pack back on. He turned towards her finally, his green eyes looking directly into hers (whatever color they are). He did not reach for his sword, or any other weapon that could possibly be hidden, he just watched her for a moment. Maybe studying her and guessing her abilities, but his eyes never left hers. After a moment he spoke in the human tounge with a deep voice. "You missed the chance to sneak up on me. You should have ran back into cover by now."

Her burning eyes just glowed, tracing holes into his. "Wosn't really TRYING to sneak up on ye." she stated. "Not that ye seem ter care. Ye've got me right where ye can see me." Her hand was still on her dagger.

He did not answer her for another moment. Whether he had to answer slowly because the lack of intelligence you'd expect from someone so big, or perhaps something else. "Yes, I can see you. If you weren't sneaking, than what were you doing?"

"Walking." she stated simply, her hand gripping her dagger hilt. She was a born killer....it couldn't be helped. It was just a reaction.

"Then will I have any problems as I continue on?" He asked her, green eyes still watching hers. "Or were you walking towards me for a reason?" He asked again. Other than breathing, he wasn't moving much, his hands still didn't seem to be going for his sword or anything else.

"Alliance." she stated simply. "Just figuring since you seem to have the strength and I've got the speed we'd make a pretty decent team. I've been looking for a partner anyway."

"A partner." He repeated, this time he seemed to finally show some surprise, the only emotion yet. "A team. What for dark elf?" He asked her now.

"Because....drow aren't exactly welcome beings, as you may have guessed. I've got people going after me...namely normal elves. And speed can't get me around alone. Killing is fun and all...but it doesn't help my problem. I need friends. Else I can't defeat anything other than simple peaseants and the occasional guard."
