The roiling sea was a background hum to the sapphire dragoness curled up on the beach.
Venus was exhausted; there was no other way to put it. Wandering and fighting was taking its toll, as well the occasional possession by Isandre. So now, Venus found herself in a situation that she hadn't been in for a long time, and had hoped never to find herself in again.
She was scared.
Scared of what could happen while she was sleeping, both to her physical body, and the contents of her dreams. She was scared about trying to scry the future. She was scared about the eerie blanks that had suddenly appeared in her memories.
She was scared of forgetting, and being forgotten.
Weary to the bone, Venus spread out her wings, ignoring the rips and tears creaking their protest. 'Really...' she thought to herself, 'Really need to do...something about those.'
~Why don't you then? Go on...just switch control to me and I can do it for you.~ ~...no 'sandre...don't want to...~ ~Gods above Venus. I'm not going to go on the rampage again. It's just healing a few wounds, is all!~ ~...~ ~Venus? C'mon, wake up!~
The battered being gave into her dreams. Only if you were flying above the island would you see the shimmering outline of a dragoness crouched protectively behind the crumpled form, her eyes switching between deepest blue and brightest gold, wings sheltering the unconcious Venus.
{Yeah, Venus is having a bad time xD}

The sun was rising when Venus finally stirred. As her eyes opened, the spirit-dragon dissolved in a sparkling mass of tiny blue motes. Blinking sleepily, the dragoness was put out at the amount of effort it took to pull herself upright. Seemed she still hadn't got enough sleep.
~You need to scry. Now.~ ~...why?~ ~One of your friends is becoming an elder of her tribe, I believe.~ ~...what?~
Blinking, she took stock of where she was.
~I'm near where I last saw Fury and Serrion aren't I? I'm on...~ The dragoness fell silent, but pulled herself over to the lapping ocean. Focusing on the water, she held for a few moments, before looking away, disgusted.
"I can't, Isandre." She spoke aloud, and shakily got up, rearranging her holed wings. "I'll fly there instead. Serrion's home, right?"
~Venus...~ ~No. I'll go myself.~
The dragoness took off, wobbling slightly, but straightened out until she was but a dot on the horizon.
