"A very interesting tale....I shall keep it in my memory for I enjoyed it and it may come in handy to know it someday." Zay replied, smiling. "You are very proud of your heiratage it seems. I too am proud of mine. It is good to have said pride....as long as it doesn't go to your head. Though I doubt that would happen to either of us."

"Ja! Of course, pride should never go to one's head.. but... That is not to say one can't be clingy." Alaric was TOO proud. So proud, he hated their hated their neighboring tribes. The Slavs, the Byzantines. Hated them. Never had any trouble with them, really. He just hated them. Why? Because he was raised to.
"I am very interested in seeing this city of yours. Was it built by you dragons... or by human hands?" Again, still wary by the thought of enslavement. Alaric kept his guard up, listening for sounds in the brush other than the sounds of him and the dragon with whom he walked. But do take notice that Alaric no longer feared the beast. In fact, he held it in high regard; He actually respected it. That was a hard thing to gain from a warrior as he.
"In fact, I'm rather exuberant!"

Zay sighed. "Sadly I don't really know...I think it was the dragons who built it, but I could be wrong. See, being pretty young for a dragon, I don't know a lot compaired to most. Galla or Laida would definately tell you if you asked them though." He then smiled again. "Either way... I believe dragons had most of the influence on how it was built."
He let Alaric walk a tad ahead before unfolding his overly large wings and then folding them again. He then caught up. "Sorry...they were bothering me. It felt weird to have them in the position they were in." ((That brief action would let Alaric see how dragon wings looked unfolded though XD))

Noticing that he was the only one walking, he turned to see the creature spreading its wings fully before reeling them back in. Amazing. Simply amazing. Of course, if Alaric were still uneasy about being in the presence of such a creature, he may have been slightly unnerved by this particular sight. But since he was comfortable, Alaric merely grinned.
"I am simply astounded. I grew up with horrid tales of beasts and monsters, yet I stare one of these said 'beasts' right here and now, face to face, and you are exactly the opposite of these stories."
Silent for a moment, he began to think.. and then he drew a breathe, exhaling with ease.
"I think.. that should I live to be old and decrepit.. I shall have a sit down with the eldest of your clan.. and I shall put onto paper, the story of your beginnings and numerous ends... "
He paused, thinking again how galant that sounded.
"Ja.. the 'Draconian Saga' is what they shall call it.. " Grand idea, nei?

Zay grinned. "We've all got our own personalities. You cannot define the entire species by stories...just as you cannot do that with any species, not just dragons."
He paused, walking along silently for a moment. "Would be a wonderful idea." he replied. "We've already got some written records of our own...but spreading and contradicting beliefs against my culture would be a lovely thing that would well be appreciated. I'm sure you'd be considered a friend to all dragons if you showed humans that we're not all bad."

"And that is exactly why I'd love to write it! To end such evil depictions of you creatures. Though, I have only just met you, I cannot find a single reason to fear you. "
He laughed, wholeheartedly because he knew he could slay the little one if he provoked a duel, but the larger dragons (because Zay had said he was still young) would be a different story. But even with Zay's attitude towards him and complete disregard of him being a human, Alaric had no reason to fear his race at the present moment. In fact, Alaric was growing fond of the young creature.

Zay grinned. "I may be able to fight, but I suppose I'm not very scarey." He then laughed. "I look more like a large blue cat or something similar...Nothing to be very afraid of. My mother would look more threatening than I do, and she's one of the nicest dragons around!" Zedall hummed something as he walked, twitching his tail behind him.

" Your mother? I would bet.. a full grown beast.. "
Alaric gave a slight shudder as they walked, his hand gripping the Keel, still keen on listening for sounds he was sure shouldn't be there, aside from his footsteps, and the dragon's quick feet at his side.
Although, looking out ahead, he saw what he though must have been a large wall..
Could they have finally reached the city? Excitement loomed over him. What would the architecture be? Draconic, or human? He began to pace himself a little faster, his grin growing wider and every step, and every growing bit of wall.

Zay smiled at Alaric's enthusiasm and followed next to him. He kept humming the tune as he walked. It was an old song that most dragons knew...one about a young hatchling learning to fly. It was sort of a lulliby for unruly hatchlings. He then stopped for a moment. "My mother is no 'beast' and neither are dragons in general. You'd best not say that...it might be considered a tad rude to Elders and dragons who desearve respect. Younger ones like myself might just laugh at it though. It sort of all depends who you're speaking to." He stated before going back to humming.

Alaric frowned, glancing down at him.
"My apologies. Hard to restrict myself from words I'm so used to saying. Never meant no harm though.. " :: Of course, then again, this is coming from a guy who pulled a Seacs on Zay only a few moments prior. But we'll let that slide, shall we?
" Seems you youngsters are a bit more tolerant than your elders. Old bats, eh? Or do you just put up with them like us humans? "
Contradictory, Alaric's people revered their elders, as being wise, and having much experience from old age and many battles.

Zay stopped humming again and laughed. "Old bats? You'd better not let them hear you say that either! No...we respect them because of their experience. They are much older and have much to offer. And while some are centuries old, they are still fairly young and can fight as well as share wisdom.... Very helpful when you only know a little magic, a few breath weapons, and basic combat skills."

"Indeed, it would seem so! But I need not restrain myself, for we share the same respects in my land! Elders ARE experienced, in both Life and the arts of War!"
Alaric, swung the keel at his side, out of boredom and expression when he mentioned war. But his sight turned not to Zay nor did it stray to any other object -- it dead set on the growing city in front of them. Glaring at the walls and what he guessed would be the gates, Alaric -- again -- began to stride faster. This would be great!
"Let us enter the city!"
And with that, he broke into a full run.
(Kinda want to take the RP inside now. Lol. Should we start posting in the city now? [no pun intended ;P] )

Zay laughed and broke into a run himself, surprisingly fast with his oversized wings weighing him down. "Now THAT is enthusiasm!"
((Yes, we should XD))
