"A youngling, eh?" Neraika asked. She held no soft spot for hatchlings and no patience for young dragons. Her expression remained much the same though a gleam of curiosity sparked behind the inner shadows of her oh-so-potent mind. Her voice full of venom, but silky smooth still, she spoke. "He will need to learn more than simply spirit-reading when he does fall. Else he will be no use to us. Still I cannot help but ask what plans you may have surrounding him." And oh... will he fall. Yesss... Nobody resists the allure of our side. Still my curiosity is peaked. I must press on. I need to know more about this...youngling. she thought to herself.

"Plans are fluid, Neraika. But he may prove vital in future... confrontations." Rafael stood, shaking off the few coins which had attached themselves to his hide. "They have a number of spirits on their side who may prove troublesome; you yourself felt their influence during your battle with Sheakria. If this youngling chooses to help us, his skills will render them useless and further push our advantage."

The skeletal dragon's tail slammed into the ground in annoyance, sending coins scattering. "And what of me? I am not very good from such jobs of playing with minds. I need something to keep me busy in the time it will take me to return to my form once more."

Raik snorted, "Patience Lich. I am sure there is a position for you to play in this game as well." She tilted her head and a sickening crunch filled the air as the bones and joints cracked. "Much better," she said with a smirk. Her eyes flicked back to Rafael. "He has no choice in the matter of joining us then. He will fall."

The dragon half-turned, eyes gleaming. "I haven't forgotten you, Lich. After all, the remains of the forces sleeping beneath this island won't wake unless there is the promise of secure power..." His feather rustled in the still air. "Fancy it?"

The Lich snorted and shook his head. "Those are your troops Rafael. Give me time out on my own, and I will come back here with a whole 'nother army. An army that won't run away when things go wrong, won't need food or water, and will always be alert."

Rafael shrugged, tail whipping amongst the coins. "My troops are loyal, as long as they know I live. But your proposal sounds intriguing." He tilted his head, curiosity glittering black diamonds in his eyes. "Could you manage it without your body?"
~Neraika.~ The mental connection hummed. ~A personal visit may be needed to force the boy to fall. Go to the burrow known as Tiamat's Earth; watch it. When you get the signal, go below. Mind the wards.~

She curled her tail around herself and snorted. "You speak of the undead again, Lich?" she asked, interest peaked again. An army like that was certainly powerful but how strong against the forces they'd just lost to?
~A personal appearance? This I can do for sure... What kind of "persuasion" am I permitted to use against him? Non-violent I'd assume?~

~Non-violent persuasion should tip the balance... no kidnapping as such, but...~ Insane glee sparked through their conversation, his quiet cackle mad enough to be unbalancing. ~Feel free to use as much violence as you like against the others. There will be another youngling. The three older dragons are strong, but weak when the apprentices are threatened...~ His voice was a jubilant hiss. ~Bear this well in mind.~

~I think I understand this sort of mind game rather well m'self. I should be able to easily persuade them into submission.~ she replied. Her face twisted from the smile to a cruel smirk, her face looking like something from a horror show than reality. It didn't help that her very movements were obscured by her stripes. They made even the smallest twitch look like a warp in time and space. ~He will come willingly. I will be sure of it.~

"Of course I speak of Undead, and an army like that is easy to gather and effective in use. It does not matter if I am currently weakened, raising simple skeletons from the ground is an easy matter for one such as I. I'll simply start slowly and work my way up as my strength and body returns to me."

(Sorry - I'm a total idiot and didn't notice this thread for the longest time. >.< *headdesk* Apologies, guys!)
Rafael's grin widened.
"Ah, Lich, as always your services are irreplaceable. Adding numbers to our current forces can only be to our advantage..." He thought for a moment, overbright eyes sliding into the middle distance. "With the ravens and those sleeping beneath the island, we should have more than enough." His smile curled at the edges to expose fangs. "For now."
~Good.... good. Watch out for the black; avoid engaging him in a fight. The feathered dragoness is very proficient in magic, and the eastern is both a cunning fighter and a strong magic-user himself. Leave now, and watch your back.~ A thought occurred to him, lighting a spark of anticipation in him. ~Oh, and if little Venus is there... maybe a reminder of some sort? I'm sure it would be... appreciated.~

At the words 'for now', Neraika's own expression changed to a smirk of equal nature. Her psychotic gaze returned darker than ever as she answered Rafael's comment. ~I'm sure Venus will remember me if she sees me. I doubt it will do much to change Aleiko's opinion if she does anything herself. As for the others I will keep that in mind, M'lord.~ She bowed- a gesture not so easily preformed by a dragon since they had to kneel on their front legs as well as lower their heads- then stood back up and left the room. This was going to be fun.
