Extending his senses further outwards, he brushed on the location of several deer, hidden away in the dense undergrowth. Passing over a presence he recognized as Nerinda, he completed the sweep and focused in on the deer. Hovering for a moment, waiting until some moved out in a nearby clearing, Leander suddenly locked his wings and hurtled into a full on dive. Enjoying the rush of wind and whistle of it against his wings, Leander freefell down and grasped a fleeing deer in his claws, breaking its neck quickly and painlessly.

Nerinda smiled and flew next to the male. "You caught one, I suppose you are a better hunter than I gave you credit for." She raised an eyebrow. "Or you cheated, either one." Though she was still smiling.

Leander grinned rakishly. "If you count magic as cheating, I guess I did. But hey - s'all my magic's good for, tracking."

"Mmm... Then it's still cheating." She shrugged and shifted the deer into her back talons.

Leander chuckled. "Alright. I'll go without this time." Wrapping his tail around the deer, Leander flared his wings again, lifting himself up on a thermal to gaze down at the ground below.

Nerinda shook her head and flew infront of him. "No, no. Eat what you have. We're not going to kill extra."

"I was going to grab one for Venus whenever she decides to come back after her wanderings." He shrugged indifferently, making the deer swing.
"But I suppose she can catch her own if she wants it."

Nerinda nodded and smiled, reaching down she bit off a chunk of the dead deer she was holding, still on the wing. "The hunt is more exciting than the taste, don't be alarmed if your deer tastes a little funny... The blood dragons and the moon dragons are the only ones who have found this enjoyable. I'm sure Venus would appretiate just getting to hunt these."

Leander grinned, flapping once to recover his lost height before simply floating on the air currents. "I reckon some of the things me and Venus ate as dragonets would taste odd to the dragons out here too."
Tucking in to a small piece of deer, the silver dragon chewed thoughtful. "Odd, like you said, but I think I could get used to it."

"There are stranger beasts yet in the wastelands where I come from. Usually what you hunt there is a predator as well. I've grown to enjoy the taste of insects personally, very large ones. Preferably the venomus kind." She smirked slightly.

"We used to hunt the poison pike around our island when we were young; I always remember the mothers fussing over us when we came back covered in acid." He chuckled, taking another bite of deer.

She nodded. "Hmm... How long ago was that? I was probably only a child around then as well. I am pretty sure you are younger than me. My blood is tainted with that of the demons as well as the elves so I mature slower than dragons with pure blood."

Leander pondered a moment. "By my reckoning, I'd say it was near on sixty five years ago now."

"Even before the massacar in the mountains here..." She spoke quietly. She was not going to mention anything about her father being the cause of the killing of the blood dragon and moon dragon clans. "Though I admit I know nothing about what happened to your clan. I learned as much as I could but I'm affraid your clan was so isolated from the rest of the world that not much information ever spread across."

Leander smiled a small rueful smile. "We kept ourselves to ourselves. It was just our nature. Paid the price for it in the end I suppose. By isolating ourselves from the rest of the communities we engineered our own downfall. Bit stupid that it came from within, isn't it?"
