"Perhaps... depends on your perception," Fury said with her own smile. "Tell me something Serrion. Do the Blood Dragons have anything special like Moon Dragons? Tales and myths that are part of culture I mean? I know our Clans are very close but that seems to be the big difference."

Serrion paused a moment, but then nodded. "Well with the stars... and the sun it is something very different to us. They are deep sources of magic and fire. We bathe in the sun regularily to let them recharge our bodies with their heat... and many Blood Dragons have been known to have an ample supply of energy in the sun and feel sluggish at night. We feel a very similar energy come from deep underground as well. But the moon does not have that same comforting heat. To us it feels cold... and hollow."

"Interesting... I cannot imagine feeling the moon to be cold or hollow. It is like a mother to my clan. We bathe in its rays much as your kind bathes in the sun," Fury responded. She paused and smiled. "Perhaps this is why our clans were such good allies. Where one is sluggish at night the other is strong and the other way around as well. You believe in sources of magic and fire while Moon Dragons believe in magic, wisdom, hope, and creation."

Serrion smiled and nodded. "We are... as I believe humans say, two sides of the same coin. Day and night."

"Indeed. It's kind of interesting to think about really," Fury agreed. She paused and then smiled. "Perhaps that is why we're such good friends. You know what they say, opposites attract do they not?"

Serrion became quiet for a moment and he took that into a far deeper consideration than Fury had probably intended for it. His claws were noticeably clenching at the ground while his tail swayed gently back and forth. "They do. Fury I need to ask you about something."

Fury noticed his tail and claws. It was something he'd only do when nervous. She never knew his calm demeanor to slip so easily. One of her eyebrow ridges raised in a puzzled expression. "Yes Serrion? You know you can tell me anything. We are friends are we not?"

He nodded. "Yes, but there are certain things that are not the usual tests of friendship and loyalty."

"Oh?" She questioned. She tried to keep her gaze met with Serrion's but found herself unable to. She glanced away from him. A very slight silvery colour beginning to rise on her black scales, scattred through her cheeks like stars in the midnight sky.

Serrion nodded. "You heard about... Snow, I assume?" Serrion looked to her again and tilted his head.

A deep sorrow filled Fury's eyes. The blush ceased and she nodded slowly. "Yes... I heard. I am sorry for your loss, too. It was unfair for her to be snatched from you so soon. Still it seems some things are unpredictable in war and that was just one."

Serrion coughed and shook his head. "Her loss is sad. But that was a time when I was not thinking clearly. I did not plan things very well ahead of time and I did not know her very well. Now I have better thought things through and have made plans... The problem is I have three different plans to consider and I am uncertain which one I should choose..."

"What is there to know about love? If you cared for her and she cared for you then not knowing her very well was hardly an obstacle. At least that's how Moon Dragon beliefs go at times." Fury paused and looked back at him. "You don't seem all that confident in your 'three plans', Serrion. You're talking cautiously."

"I did love her... But it was also mating season so that love may have not been as strongly as if it had been one I had loved from before." He sighed. "I need to be careful because this decision is the hardest one I have been faced with in my life. All three could lead to something wonderful. But I don't know which one will make me happier, and I do know that each one will likely make two other dragons feel hurt."

"Ah..." Fury responded. Her tail twitched back and forth at its end, the spade leaving a tiny line in the ground each time. "Well Serrion out of all dragons I have known you have some of the best judgment I have witnessed. Whatever you choose I doubt anyone will be able to remain bitter for long. As long as you are happy nobody can or will blame you."
